The Grange Auxiliary Hospital was opened in 1915 by its founder and Matron, Mrs Lewin, as an auxiliary military hospital with 34 beds.

It presumably closed in 1918 at the end of the war.


This building is recorded as having been used as an auxiliary military hospital during WW1.  No further details have (as yet) come to light.

Present status (May 2012)

The building was in use as the headquarters for the furniture retailer Courts plc, which went into administration in 2003.

In 2007 it became serviced offices.  It is still known as The Grange.
