In October 1914 Mr and Mrs William E. Hennah established an auxiliary home hospital in their home, Lodore, for sick and wounded servicemen, free of all expense.

The Hospital had 7 beds and was under the management of the Kent/50 Voluntary Aid Detachment.

It closed in 1915 when a larger hospital opened in Oakley House.


Present status (November 2010)

The area has been completely redeveloped and the site of the house is now occupied by an apartment block - The Exchange Apartments - with access in Sparks Close.
